RAGGING IS CRIME
Ragging means any act, conduct or practice by which dominant power or status of senior student is brought to bear on students freshly enrolled or students who are in any way considered junior or inferior by other students and includes individual or collective acts or practices which:-

- involve physical assault or threat or use of physical force;
- violate the status, dignity and honour of women students;
- violate the status, dignity and honour of students belonging to the scheduled castes and tribes and other backward classes;
- expose students to ridicule and contempt and effect their self-esteem;
- entail verbal abuse and aggression, indecent gestures and obscene behavior.
- causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of fresher or a junior student.

Ragging is banned in the institution. The Institute follows the Supreme Court Directives and H.P. Government Ordinance for Ragging. Any one indulging is liable to be punished appropriately, including expulsion from the institution and /or imprisonment up to 3 years, and / or fine up to Rs. 25,000/- or both.
