Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India has renewed the recognition of SILB as a Scientific and Industrial Organization (SIRO) for another three years after an elaborate review process. As a SIRO recognized institute, SILB continues to be an elite science institute for receiving competitive research grants, and to avail the custom / excise duty exemption on the import of equipments, instruments and spares thereof, consumables, etc.
